There was a time not so long ago when the puffa jacket wearer fell into one of two categories: 1990's throwback, or dog walker. But this season it's been stealthily ditching any dubious style creds and infiltrating stylish wardrobes everywhere, albeit with a 2021 re-boot. Suddenly the humble staple is serving us alternative geometric quilting and avant garde shapes, from graphic and boxy to floor skimming to kimono style and capes. Not to mention its new name: 'puffa jacket' being banished in favour of the rather luxurious sounding 'quilted coat'.
So - an actually sensible (and warm) Winter coat with fashion's seal of approval? This is excellent news. Now excuse me while I go walk a dog.
